  very long story.

  i've been away from this site for a while.. basically, i tried to leave.

  handed in my disassociation letter, it kicked up a storm and 2 weeks later i was disfellowshipped.

  This cult always screws families over. I disassociated myself by letter nearly three years ago, never been happier. I didn't have any family or friends in that set up so I pretty much had nothing to loose. I am feeling sorry for you, especially about your young daughter, your wife should have never been telling her parents what was happening in your marriage. In my opinion she has betrayed you, as for your nosy sister in law, who does she think she is? sticky beaking into other peoples private computers, I wonder if she would like you doing it to her. I really felt angry when I read what these bitches have done. As for the elders and their crap they can stick it where the sun don't shine. They had me feeling that I was accountable to them in the end so I was only too glad to tell them go jump. I am a single woman with no one to stand up for me and was treated in an appalling manner. I was not found out to be on this site or having doubts, which I secretly hid for almost nine years. I had an incident with one of the elders and that put the icing on the cake for me. I do hope you can get passed all this and move on. Take care.

  my eyes for ttatt opened in 1995 with the generation change and the wt magazine stated "some witness thought that the generation started in 1914".

  since 1997, with internet at low speed, i followed h2o hourglass, www.xjw.com and later on www.jehovahs-witness.net.. did a bachelor and post bachelor since then.. now, nearly completed with fading, i feel it's time to go on with my life and do some other things, spending more time with my wife abd children instead of thinking about jw topics in my head.

  goal is being a better person and less grumpy at 45.... everything what could be said is already said.

  Yes Gorby as time has gone on since I disassociated my self from the cult I feel the same. Rarely do I think about it now. I feel happier and freer than I did when in that cult. Jesus said that he came to set the captives free, I am of the opinion that all religion is part of Babylon The Great and will be destroyed by God, so better to be out of her as the scriptures warn. All the best to you and your family, life is too short to be held a prisoner by religion or anything else that makes you unhappy.

  i just wanted to take a minute to encourage any that are leaving that the world outside isn't as scary as it was made out to be.

  my wife and i officially da'd at the beginning of last september.

  i've battled social anxiety, depression, etc.

  I D'ad in Oct 2013, best thing I ever did from that I time on I have been a happier and less stressed person. I agree with what you said. Today strangely enough an uber dud stopped and talked to me, surprise surprise. He invited me to the sham Memorial they put on for Jesus, told me the location and time. I said NO. I could not imagine my self going to another one if those disgusting things. Furthermore I could not imagine myself sitting through another boring meeting either. These people are completely blind to what they are mixed up in and oh he said something I thought was hilarious, Satan is happy now that he has another one of Jehovah's people lol I almost burst out laughing, too funny eh?

  it was good to put a voice to the guy on jw facts.

  Hi all, been a while since I posted here. I am in Australia and heard Paul Grundy being interviewed by someone on ABC radio in Sydney. It was good to put a voice to the guy on JW Facts. His story was interesting about growing up in "the truth" and how he spent 35 years there. He said something which I thought was really good, that he always looks to the positive side of things rather than lamenting all those wasted years, he lost friends and family after being disfellowshipped. He said that he is very happy today as I guess most people including myself who get out if this disgusting cult are. I have a current JW who contacts me by phone sometimes trying to get me back there but I won't be asking for reinstatement. I disassociated myself by letter in October 2013 after an incident with an elder and the way the boys club treated me as a single woman.

  I received my invite to the convention today.

  a lone guy casually dressed with no tie knocked on the door and my son took him for a salesman , didnt answer the door and he soon left , he also noticed he put something in our letterbox as he left.. checking it out it was a flyer for the jehovahs witness convention which is a good 4-4 and a half hour drive from here where i live.. do they honestly think a householder who lives close to 4-5 hours away is going to go to a religous convention , when they have continously rejected the message in their own home town ?.

  ok , so they are thinking , its advertising the convention to a far wider community in the state..... excuse me ?.

  this particular convention is being held at etihad stadium in melbourne in oct.what has happened in previous conventions around australia , newspapers print special edditions to assemblys covering such conventions , however the rest of the state gets zero exposure to the assembly.. however the gullible rank and file think what a grand witness has been given with all this publicity .

  Smiddy a strange thing happened here the other day with regards to convention invitations. I live on the Central Coast of NSW, lo and behold I checked my letter box and what did I find, an invite to the convention at the Etihad Stadium at Docklands in Melbourne, hello what the hell, do they seriously think that people are going to take time off work and spend a lot of money on flights, accommodation and meals just to go to this event, they must be crazy. The last lot of invitations I did was July 2013 and our congregation have

  never in all the years I was mixed up with this cult did we offer invites to conventions other than the closet one which would have been held in Sydney. This is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. I thought someone was fooling with me from my ex cong but I soon see other invites dumped on the ground around the letter boxes , so everyone got them. Wonder what they will do next?

  My best friend died yesterday

  Aww TimeBandit, how very sad. I wouldn't have had the courage to do what you did. My heart feels for you. I remember having to take my dog to the vet to be euthanised, I can still remember the feeling to this day and it was more than 30 years ago and what's more I missed that little daschund for a very long time, in fact I have never had another pet since, as I cannot bare that kind of pain again. It's the same feeling when a loved family member passes away. Its awful. Death is cruel and separates us from the ones we love and cherish the most. Take care
